Lodge Profile

Idsall Lodge 7133 is a Masonic Lodge in the Province of Shropshire, Warranted by the UGLE. It is a progressive and growing Lodge that has a good reputation for its ceremonial and ritual within the Province.

Consecrated on 22nd Jan 1952 and as of 31/12 17 it currently has 50 subscribing members. It currently meets in the Park House Hotel, Shifnal, Shropshire on the 1st Wednesday in Sept -May except 1st Tues in Oct and 2nd Wed in Jan. Regular meetings start with the Annual Installation in May and it is usual to start them at 1800hrs, however, times occasionally vary according to the ceremony. The Lodge also has an active social scene with family and friends encouraged and welcomed to attend. These range throughout the year from 2 formal engagements, a Ladies festival and a Xmas Dinner to such diverse functions as quiz nights and Beetle Drives and others.

The Lodge membership is very diverse comprising of individuals from all backgrounds, ages and ethnic origins and is acknowledged to be, by many who visit, a warm and friendly Lodge. Whilst encouraging members to attend as many meetings as possible, all are actively supported in their progress through the Offices of the Lodge, but it is also acknowledged that some would prefer to be involved in the administrative aspects of Freemasonry rather than the ceremonies and ritual or by simply organising social aspects. All are welcome.

The Lodge has a strong nucleus of experienced Brethren with many more recent and younger members who are progressing in their understanding of Freemasonry and will secure the future of the Lodge. To this end Lodges of Instruction are carried out on a monthly basis to further enhance that knowledge and understanding.

Our ideal candidate should be able and willing to commit to attending Regular meetings and can afford the costs of membership, including Charitable contributions. We hope they would wish to contribute to the life and spirit of the Lodge and enjoy a good sense of humour. We recognise the need to change and adapt some of our practices and so would hope that new members may bring some flexibility and new ideas.
